WELCOME TO THE CLINIC
Dr. Chiara Insalaco, after specializing in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Rome La Sapienza, spent two years of training in the United States alongside Dr. John Cole and learning the most innovative techniques to bring them to Italy.
Dr. Cole’s 20 years of experience offers a worldwide guarantee, both in terms of the results achieved by our patients and our reputation.
Our hair transplant philosophy has as its main objective the naturalness of the result.

Our clinics are renowned for their ability to create natural first lines, which means a first line with grafts strictly from a hair to avoid the famous “doll effect”, in which large tufts are transplanted. This effect is also frequently seen on hair transplant operations carried out recently.
Another fundamental objective for us is the accurate study of the donor area before the patient undergoes the operation. More and more often patients come to our clinics, with completely destroyed donor areas, asking for solutions to their problem. In these cases the options are very scarce and any solutions extremely difficult.
The first visit for the hair transplant
During the first visit the patient undergoes a precise calculation of follicular units/cm2, number of hairs/cm2, average number of hairs/follicular unit and hair diameter. This helps us make an estimate of the total number of follicular units and individual hairs in the donor area in order to calculate the right percentage we can harvest from that patient. This is essential to avoid the depletion of the donor area, which would jeopardize the possibility of more procedures in the future should they be needed.
Furthermore, we carry out the hair mass index study, which is given by number of hairs + their diameter.
This test is fast and safe and it gives us the opportunity to predict the hair loss progression and monitor this progression in an objective and scientific manner. We can also measure the reaction to hair loss therapies and to any surgical interventions that might be undertaken as well.
The evaluation of the donor zone is essential to protect its integrity and to help plan the best hair transplant outcome possible.
Lastly, we focus on the recipient area, considering especially the following elements: direction, angulation, appropriate density.
The combination of these three elements leads to a successful result.
Our clinics are based in Italy and in the USA, in Atlanta, Miami and Rome.
Our doctors personally carry out all the steps of the surgical aspects of your procedure without delegating any medical duties to the nursing staff.

HAIR TRANSPLANT SURGEON – M.D., PH.D
Dr. Chiara Insalaco’s great passion for hair transplantation was born during her specialization in Plastic Surgery, having participated in the most important and innovative international congresses and workshops all over the world.
Because of his desire to always be at the forefront of hair transplantation, he visited the most important hair transplant surgery clinics in the world:
Dr. Cole in Atlanta, Dr. Wolf in Cincinnati, Dr. Devroye in Belgium, Dr. Koray in Turkey, Dr. Gambino in Italy, Dr. Tesauro in Italy, Dr. Bisanga in Belgium, Dr. Mwamba in Belgium, etc.
These visits gave her the opportunity to learn the most innovative and evolving techniques, developed for over 10 years.
Since 2015, Dr. Insalaco collaborates with the Department of Plastic Surgery of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, together with Dr. John P. Cole (USA), to develop a pioneering research project in the field of regenerative medicine (PRP, STEM CELLS) and its application in the treatment of alopecia. Unique results are about to be released.
Dr. Chiara Insalaco had the opportunity to learn a lot from her teachings during her visits to the USA.
In her clinics in Atlanta she acquired the technique developed by Dr. Cole, the so-called CIT® (Cole Isolation Technique). This method of extraction of follicular units is based on a minimally invasive technique, since it requires a minimum extraction depth.
Through this FUE method, the stem cells of the follicular units remain in the donor and can be regenerated using extracellular matrices such as Acell®.
Dr. Chiara Insalaco plays an active role in S.I.TRI (SOCIETÁ ITALIANA DI TRICOLOGIA). She is one of the few experts in Italy to be part of the “Public Register of Tricologists”, which lists the doctors who meet the requirements for the protection of patients suffering from scalp diseases.
